A tenacious performer with a tireless work ethic, Megan Garner brings a unique skillset to the practice of law. She provides legal counsel with a focus on estate planning, estate administration, and business law. Megan honed her craft as a sole practitioner and a resource for law firms throughout Napa county. As a sole practitioner, she draws on her own business management and banking experience to advise on a wide variety of contracts and agreements, often dovetailing with comprehensive estate planning services to benefit business legacies and honor personal concerns.

A Winning Combination

Megan joins the HVP team to further expand their services throughout the North Bay, providing estate planning and business counsel throughout Sonoma and Napa. Her practice adds another dimension to HVP LLP’s expansion with adding Wright & Supple’s experience giving advice and counsel to California employers and businesses.

Estate Planning and Administration Experience

Across nearly a decade of practice, Megan has become adept at responding to all manner of estate planning needs. With a focus on long-range estate planning to bolster business entities and manage personal wealth for generational growth, Megan works with individuals, entrepreneurs, families to provide comprehensive estate planning services including wills, trusts, power of attorney, advance health care directives and final disposition instructions.  Her business acumen supports all aspects of estate administration, including accounting and asset distribution, investment tracking, financial reports, and postmortem tax planning.

Business and Finance Acumen

Megan demonstrates a strong command of business and finance. From her start in the world of corporate finance and banking, Megan developed a keen knowledge of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and other foundational elements of business. Megan leverages her early experience to provide solid legal advice to business clients across a wide range of contracts and agreements from entity formation to production and vendor agreements, promissory notes, and stock purchase agreements.

Before HVP

Megan got her start at the Bank of Marin, then worked under the supervision of outside counsel during law school, performing due diligence work for clients investigating and executing merger and acquisition transactions. Her purview included researching and summarizing new SEC and state regulations. Early in her career, she served as a consultant, preparing complex documentation to migrate banking/financing relationships.

Life Beyond the Firm

A happy resident of Napa Valley, Megan looks forward to getting to know the beautiful town of Sonoma and its environs. She is always up for travel and being outdoors, camping and hiking with her husband and dog, Scout. Megan enjoys cake baking and decorating and volunteers with Cake for Kids, so she gets the satisfaction of baking cakes without having to eat them.
